A judge in Den Bosch has allowed creditor Marc van Rooi to proceed with an auction of three holiday parks owned by Peter Gillis’s Oostappen Groep, rejecting Gillis’s attempt to stop the sale. The parks are Prinsenmeer, Brugse Heide and Stadsresort Valkenburg. All three were closed when the ruling was reported. [1]
Van Rooi’s company, M2R Invest, lent Gillis millions and holds mortgage rights over the parks. The planned auction follows alleged missed payments. Gillis’s lawyer said earlier in September that Gillis believed Van Rooi had deliberately secured low valuations and wanted to buy the parks himself at auction. [1]
The auction is scheduled for 1 October. The ruling allows the sale process to proceed; it does not mean the parks have already been sold. [1]
Bids for Prinsenmeer, Brugse Heide and Stadsresort Valkenburg totalled more than €27 million at Thursday’s auctions, Nieuws.nl reported. Creditor Marc van Rooi put the three holiday parks associated with Dutch reality TV figure Peter Gillis up for sale. The €27 million-plus figure is the total bid amount, not a completed sale price. [2]
Van Rooi is expected to decide in the coming week which bidders to sell to. It remains undecided whether the parks will go to the highest bidders, Nieuws.nl reported, citing Omroep Brabant. [2]
