The Amsterdam newspaper’s milestone issue is due on Tuesday, with four photo covers and extra pages from its archives.

Het Parool plans to mark its 25,000th edition on Tuesday 29 September with four different covers featuring Amsterdam photographs by photographer and filmmaker Ed van der Elsken. Publisher DPG Media announced the plans, Nieuws.nl reported. [1]
Each photograph will extend across the fold from the front to the back of the newspaper. The special edition is also set to use thicker paper and include four extra pages showing historic Het Parool front pages. [1]
Editors-in-chief Jildou van der Bijl and Michiel Couzy said they wanted readers to share in the celebration. The paper plans to print 1,000 extra copies, expecting the edition to appeal to collectors. [1]
