Wu Yize beat Yuan Sijun 10–5 in an all-Chinese Shenzhen Open final on Sunday, taking his first ranking title since winning the world championship in May. BBC Sport reports that the victory moves the 22-year-old to a career-high world number two behind Zhao Xintong – the first time Chinese players have occupied the top two places in the rankings. [1]
At the Bao’an Sports Centre, Wu led 3–1 before Yuan won three frames in a row. Wu recovered to end the opening session 5–4 ahead, then extended his lead to 8–5 in the evening before closing out the match. [1]
