Mitchel Van den Brink has won the truck class of the Rallye du Maroc on his first appearance, holding off Czech driver Martin Macík in the final stage. Eurol Rally Sport, whose account was published by Nieuws.nl, says the 24-year-old Dutchman is the youngest truck-class winner in the rally’s history. [1]
The final stage included a 257.3-kilometre special. Van den Brink said Macík went the wrong way after roughly 60 kilometres and estimated that it cost his rival about three minutes. [1]
Van den Brink said the victory gave his team confidence ahead of Dakar and left him eager for more. [1]
