Statistics Netherlands (CBS) wants to broaden its regional figures and make some statistics available for smaller geographic areas where that is relevant and feasible, said Evrim Onat, who manages the agency’s regionalisation programme. CBS has not specified which figures would be published at finer levels or when. [1]
The agency says it is working on regional statistics covering safety, broad well-being and nature, alongside productivity, retail and economic clusters. It also points to its municipal moving dashboard as an example of a tool developed from one council’s question that could be useful to others. [1]
CBS also works with councils and regions through its Urban Data Centers. Korald Postuma of VNG Realisatie, an organisation supporting Dutch municipalities, said data are essential to council policy decisions, citing housing as one area where local authorities need information. [1]
