Quebec provincial police say four people died when a helicopter crashed in Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, about 50km (31 miles) from Montreal, shortly after 14:30 local time on Saturday. They found the helicopter on fire and declared its occupants dead at the scene. The fire was brought under control about an hour after the call. [1]
Police spokesperson Sergeant Audrey-Anne Bilodeau said the aircraft appeared to be a private helicopter. She placed the crash site near Rang des Écossais, off Highway 10. The victims had not been identified at the time of the report. [1]
The Sûreté du Québec’s Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation alongside crime scene technicians and investigators from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. [1]
