Israel’s win in Slovenia has put second place further out of reach for the Netherlands, who have two qualifying matches left.

Israel’s under-21 side won 3–2 away to Slovenia on Tuesday, strengthening its hold on second place in its European Under-21 Championship qualifying group. The Netherlands are fourth with six points from six matches, while Israel have 10 from seven. [1]
Norway have secured first place after a 6–1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina took them to 16 points from seven games. The Dutch side, coached by Michael Reiziger, are due to visit Slovenia on Friday and host Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 October. Winning both would take them to 12 points. [1]
The Netherlands need Israel to drop points as well as winning both remaining games. Israel would secure second place with a victory over Norway. [1]
