Netherlands coach Xavi Hernández plans several changes to his starting line-up for Sunday’s Nations League home match against Serbia. Speaking at a press conference in Zeist on Saturday, he said the team needed refreshing during a busy run of fixtures. He did not name the players he intends to bring in or leave out. [1]
Hernández said all 23 players in his current squad were available. Brian Brobbey, Cody Gakpo, Lutsharel Geertruida and Jan Paul van Hecke had left the training camp earlier in the international period with injuries. The coach said he would weigh players’ fitness and their clubs’ interests when selecting the side. [1]
The Netherlands are second in their Nations League group with five points from three matches, while Serbia have none. The Dutch side won 2–1 in Belgrade the previous Sunday. The return match is scheduled to kick off at 20.45 on Sunday at the Philips Stadion in Eindhoven. [1]
