Kitson, from March in Cambridgeshire, was one of two women competing at Northampton’s Shaleway track on Saturday. She said she completed about three or four laps of the scheduled 25 before a crash and flat tyre ended her race. Despite the disappointment, she said it was a great event to be part of. [1]
The BBC described Kitson as believed to be the youngest woman to qualify for the BriSCA F1 world championship race. Kitson said she was its youngest-ever female qualifier. She credits her father, Daz Kitson, a two-time BriSCA F2 world champion, with inspiring her to race. [1]
Kitson said she hopes to qualify again next year, while acknowledging that a place in the race is not guaranteed. [1]
