Police identified the two people arrested as Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, both 77. They described the couple as McKinsey’s parents-in-law and said witnesses helped officers find them nearby within minutes. Both were arrested on suspicion of murder. [1]
McKinsey had worked for The New York Times since 2023 and was head of engineering in its interactive games division, Dutch news agency ANP reported. ANP said Zhang and Chen were due to appear in court on Wednesday, 30 September. [2]
