Three songs recorded in 1998 by Divinyls singer Chrissy Amphlett and former Split Enz frontman Tim Finn are due to be released on Friday 2 October. The EP, titled Some Times, follows Finn’s rediscovery of the recordings in his garage. [1]
Finn and Amphlett wrote the songs over several days and recorded them with drummer Charley Drayton. Finn took the recordings home after the sessions, but they were not fully realised at the time. Drayton contacted him about the songs in 2023; Finn said he then found the two-inch tape and that it was still in perfect condition. [1]
Amphlett, who died in 2013, was the frontwoman of Australian rock band Divinyls, whose songs included I Touch Myself and Pleasure and Pain. [1]
