The Metropolitan Police said it was called to the junction of Braybrook Street and Erconwald Street in East Acton at 19:47 on Friday after members of the public heard several shots. Officers and ambulance staff attended, but the 40-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. [1]
Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie said police believed 40 to 50 people, including children, were present for the memorial gathering. Police have asked anyone who was near Braybrook Street, Erconwald Street or Wormwood Scrubs playground between 18:00 and 20:00 on Friday to come forward, including anyone with relevant footage. [1]
