Angela Scanlon will take over BBC Radio 2’s weekday drivetime show in November, following Sara Cox’s move to the breakfast slot. The programme will run from 16:00 to 19:00, Monday to Friday. [1]
Scanlon presented an early-morning Sunday programme on Radio 2 from 2018 to 2021. She was also among the presenters who filled in on drivetime after Cox left the slot in May. Scanlon called the new job “properly exciting”. [1]
Radio 2 has also named Ben Earle as the next presenter of its weekly country music programme, following the departure of longtime host Bob Harris. [1]
