Dutch industrial selling prices were 6.8% higher in August 2026 than a year earlier, up from a 5.1% annual rise in July, Statistics Netherlands (CBS) reported on Wednesday. Prices also rose 1.1% from July to August: 1.3% for goods sold abroad and 0.8% for those sold in the Netherlands. [1]
Petroleum-industry products recorded a 59.7% year-on-year price increase in August, while chemical-industry prices rose 14.1%. CBS said a barrel of North Sea Brent crude averaged almost €76 that month, 31% more than a year earlier. It noted that oil-price movements generally have a strong influence on industrial selling prices. [1]
The increase was not shared across industry. Selling prices for food products fell 4.9% from a year earlier, while those for electrical engineering declined 0.2%. The figures measure industrial selling prices, not consumer prices. [1]
