Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh, visited George Washington’s tomb and a replica of a military camp from his era during a trip to the United States last week. The visit was intended to celebrate ties between Britain and the US, Nieuws.nl reported on 2 October, describing a retrospective from the British royal household. [1]
Edward laid a wreath at Washington’s tomb, spoke with historians at a new education centre and took part in a whisky tasting at Mount Vernon. [1]
The trip also took him to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where he met cultural representatives, and to Western High School in Baltimore, Maryland. [1]
