Former Chelsea captain César Azpilicueta has retired after spending last season at Sevilla. In an interview published by BBC Sport on 4 October, the 37-year-old said he could probably still play, but no longer had the energy to commit fully to an entire season. [1]
Azpilicueta joined Chelsea in 2012, captained the side to victory in the 2021 Champions League final and left in 2023. He said he still follows every Chelsea match. [1]
