Zeeland’s provincial executive wants to make a total of €22.5 million available to Allseas and Thorizon for small-reactor development, Dutch news agency ANP reported. Provincial executive member Johan Aalberts said the money would be invested only when the companies’ plans were sufficiently concrete. [1]
Allseas is developing a small modular reactor for ships. Thorizon is working on a commercial molten-salt reactor in Zeeland, which it aims to have in place by 2034. [1]
The provincial executive expects to recoup its proposed investment, potentially through shares in the companies. [1]
