The 196.3-kilometre race began in Ljubljana and included 2,571 metres of climbing. Ciccone attacked on the Možjanca climb, where Evenepoel caught him before crashing near the summit. Evenepoel rejoined on the descent, and the pair later broke clear of the other riders with more than 32 kilometres remaining. [1]
