Martin Gaus says he does not miss television, describing it as an artificial world of constant competition. The former presenter, known for programmes about animals, made the remarks in an interview with De Telegraaf reported by Nieuws.nl on 25 September. [1]
Gaus said influencers had replaced his advice on bringing up dogs. Nevertheless, he remained proud of thirty years spent training dogs and making programmes. [1]
Now 82, Gaus has experienced health problems for years, including Parkinson’s disease. He described himself as worn out by the struggle, while stressing that he was not complaining. [1]
He said he no longer did much during the day, but still read extensively and went to the cinema and performances. He also said he had indicated that he did not want to be resuscitated. [1]
Reflecting on his life, Gaus said it had been fantastic and lived to the full, and was now gradually becoming more peaceful. [1]
