The White House’s 17 nomination entries cover 16 people, including candidates for a hostage-affairs envoy role, three ambassadorships and four US marshal posts.

The White House announced on 28 September that it had sent 17 nomination entries covering 16 people to the US Senate. The proposed appointments span diplomatic posts, agency oversight, agriculture and law enforcement. [1]
John Coale was nominated as special presidential envoy for hostage affairs, with the rank and status of ambassador. The three ambassadorial nominees are Dino LaVerghetta for Kuwait, William Makaneole for Turkmenistan and Christian Ehrhardt for Cameroon. [1]
The list also names Carl Bednarski, John Grunewald II and James Russell Middleton for the Farm Credit Administration Board. Mark Priebe was nominated as inspector general at the Department of Education and Robert Steinau for the same role at Nasa. Justin Schwab was nominated as an Environmental Protection Agency assistant administrator, and Gregory Ibach as an agriculture under secretary responsible for trade and foreign agricultural affairs. Four nominees were put forward for four-year terms as US marshals: Reid McAlister Creswell in South Carolina, James Christopher Edge in western North Carolina, James Richard Jackson in eastern Texas and Scott Krueger in northern Indiana. [1]
Jeffrey Zisk accounts for the extra entry: he was nominated twice to the Postal Regulatory Commission, once for the remainder of a term expiring in November 2026 and again for a term expiring in November 2032. [1]
