President Donald Trump called for news outlets to be barred from the White House after reports that Byron Donalds’s campaign for Florida governor had reduced references to him on its website. In a 26 September Truth Social post, Trump called the reports a “Fake Story” and urged courts to allow action against what he described as dishonest political coverage. [1]
The campaign pages show a change in emphasis. On 2 September, Donalds’s homepage opened with messaging about Trump’s endorsement; by 26 September, it led with a Florida-focused slogan. An earlier issues page opened with a pledge to enact Trump’s agenda, while the current introduction focuses on Florida policies. Trump’s endorsement appears on the current homepage and the campaign’s endorsements page. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Speaking at the WLRN Sunshine Economy Summit on 23 September, Donalds said website updates had been planned for about two months to highlight his policies, WPLG reported. Asked by WLRN’s Tom Hudson whether the change meant he no longer intended to enact Trump’s agenda, he said no. Trump also reaffirmed his endorsement in his post. [7] [1]
Trump said the coverage had “no sources” and began with USA Today. The Miami Herald cited website-tracking service Visualping for its report that at least eight Trump references had been removed from the homepage, and quoted a campaign spokesperson. The USA TODAY Network’s article credited the Herald with first reporting the changes. [1] [8]

Trump’s demand follows a separate press-access case. On 24 September, a federal judge temporarily ordered the restoration of White House credentials revoked from CNN, MS NOW and Politico journalists, finding their procedural due-process claim likely to succeed. That order concerns revocations made before Trump’s post. [10]
