João Cancelo put Portugal ahead early in Copenhagen, but Mikkel Damsgaard equalised ten minutes later. Gonçalo Ramos restored Portugal’s lead before half-time. Rasmus Højlund brought Denmark level again after the break, before Vitinha and João Félix scored to secure the 4–2 win. [1]
Ronaldo had left Portugal’s training camp on Wednesday evening, after coach Jorge Jesus spoke at a press conference. The reason for his departure was unclear. The following day, Jesus gave Rafael Leão the number seven shirt Ronaldo had worn in recent years. [1]
