Police in Groningen are investigating new reports of drones over the Eemshaven area, but say they currently see no connection with separate sightings reported elsewhere in the province.
Police in the Netherlands received fresh reports of drone activity over the Eemshaven area in Groningen at the weekend, adding to sightings reported there several times over the past fortnight. The drones’ origin remains unclear, police said. [1]
Police are including the latest reports in their investigation of earlier sightings. They said they believed the objects reported were drones, but did not know where they came from.
Regional broadcaster RTV Noord also reported on Tuesday that unidentified drones had been seen in Meeden, Scheemda and Zuidbroek, in eastern Groningen, where important infrastructure is located. Police said they currently saw no link between those reports and the Eemshaven sightings, while adding that they investigate every drone report. [1]
