Unilever plans to save €1 billion by the end of 2029, using a simpler corporate structure and eliminating overlapping costs as it speeds up a reorganisation led by chief executive Fernando Fernandez.
The company said the savings would partly come from combining its food business with US company McCormick. Unilever is due to explain its plans at an investor meeting on Wednesday.
Fernandez wants to focus the British-Dutch group on household and personal care products, with an emphasis on faster-growing beauty and wellbeing brands and key markets including India and the United States.
