12GO Biking is taking over the bicycle inventory of bankrupt Accell Nederland, ANP reported on Wednesday. The Dutch retailer’s director, Pieter van den Berg, said the stock covers all of Accell Nederland’s bicycles held in the Netherlands and includes Batavus, Sparta and KOGA models. He put the quantity at several tens of thousands but declined to give an exact figure. The purchase price has not been disclosed. [1]
Van den Berg said he was also in talks with the administrators about possibly acquiring parts of the business. He expects that the bicycle group will not restart as a whole. [1]
The inventory sale is separate from any sale of other Accell group assets or activities. Administrators said last week that 60 parties had expressed interest in restarting the bankrupt bicycle manufacturer. [1]
