Queen Mette-Marit will miss Friday’s opening of Norway’s parliament at the Storting in Oslo. The Norwegian royal court told NRK she has a respiratory infection, Nieuws.nl reports. [1]
She underwent a lung transplant in June and is still recovering. A doctor at Rikshospitalet said she was following her planned training programme and that doctors were pleased with her progress. The doctor estimated that rehabilitation after the operation would take about a year. [1]
Haakon is due to deliver his first speech from the throne as king following Harald’s death, Nieuws.nl reports. Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra is expected to attend as planned. [1]
