Botic van de Zandschulp is out of the Beijing tennis tournament after losing a three-set first-round match to Francisco Cerúndolo.

The Dutch player, ranked world No 41, led 4–1 in the opening set before Cerúndolo drew level at 5–5. Van de Zandschulp broke again to take the set 7–5, but lost the next two 4–6, 3–6. [1]
Van de Zandschulp had chances to break Cerúndolo in the final two sets but converted none of them. Cerúndolo made the most of his own break opportunities to complete the comeback, ANP reported. [1]
