Olaf Sleijpen, president of De Nederlandsche Bank, urged Dutch politicians to reach solutions quickly during an appearance on WNL Op Zondag on Sunday, 27 September, ANP reported. He said economic growth was too low despite the country having greater potential. He identified nitrogen policy and the queue for electricity-grid connections as major problems to address. [1]
Sleijpen saw progress in talks between the minority government and opposition parties as a step in the right direction. He urged politicians to make choices, saying not everyone could get what they wanted. [1]
He also called for more investment, but said it should not be funded by further increases in public debt. He stressed the importance of a balanced budget. [1]
