The award was announced on Saturday at ALT for damerne’s 80th-anniversary celebration at the Copenhagen Opera. Margrethe, 86, had been presented with it the previous week at Fredensborg Palace, Nieuws.nl reported. [1]
Citing the Danish court, Nieuws.nl said the prize recognised, among other things, Margrethe’s distinctive clothing style during her reign. The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Heidi Frederikke Sigdal, praised her for carrying out her royal role with respect, innovation and a style of her own. [1]
Margrethe also received *Dronning Margrethe*, an original artwork by Nikoline Liv Andersen that appears on the cover of the magazine’s anniversary issue. She reigned from 1972 until her abdication in January 2024, when her eldest son, Frederik, became king. [1]
