U2 will perform at half-time during the Los Angeles Rams’ NFL game against the Green Bay Packers on 25 November, in a show Netflix will broadcast live, Nieuws.nl reports, citing Variety. The performance at SoFi Stadium is part of the NFL’s plan to make a Thanksgiving Eve half-time show an annual event. [1]
The league wants to feature a major artist each year on the evening before Thanksgiving, the report says. Beyoncé and Snoop Dogg have previously performed at NFL games on Christmas Day.
It will be U2’s second half-time appearance at an American football game: the band performed at the Super Bowl in 2002. The November show follows the release of *Carnaval De Luz*, U2’s first album of new material in nine years, according to Nieuws.nl. [1]
