BBC News reported on 28 September that the RAC put diesel at 199.18p a litre, its highest price on record. Petrol cost 174.13p a litre and was still rising. [1]
The BBC linked higher fuel costs to the Iran war, saying disruption to oil production and transport in the region over the preceding seven months had pushed up prices for fuels made from oil. [1]
