Willie Wartaal, Maan and Nicolette Kluijver have each written a book for the 2026 National Sinterklaas Books collection, with the titles due on sale from 11 November.
Kluijver’s story follows Ozosnel, Sinterklaas’s horse, as he learns that nobody has to be the best at everything and that everyone has something special. Wartaal said he enjoyed creating a new world through language, while Maan said she wanted her story to be about more than presents and to explore the value of what people already have.
Job van Gelder, Alice Larsson and Emanuel Wiemans illustrated the books. The three authors are due to present them and read to children on 12 November at Villa Frankendael in Amsterdam.
