Adam Driver rules out return for new Girls episodes

Adam Driver will not return for HBO’s new episodes of *Girls*, the actor has said, ruling out a reunion with the series’ returning cast.

Asked by CinemaBlend whether he would play Adam Sackler again, Driver replied: “No, but I wish them much luck.”

HBO announced in October that *Girls* would return with five new episodes, nearly a decade after the original series ended. Lena Dunham, who created the show, is returning alongside former co-stars Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells. Filming is expected to begin in 2027.

Driver played Sackler, Hannah Horvath’s on-and-off partner, from 2012 to 2017. The role was his breakthrough as an actor.

In her memoir *Famesick*, published earlier this year, Dunham accused Driver of verbally aggressive behaviour during filming. Driver declined at the time to respond to the allegations in detail.
