PostNL expects out-of-home parcel collection to grow substantially and plans about €50 million in extra investment over 2027 and 2028 to support it.

PostNL plans to invest about €50 million in 2027 and 2028 to expand delivery options outside the home, as the Dutch postal company expects the share of parcels collected from lockers and pick-up points to rise from 13% now to about 40% by 2031.
The extra spending will be on top of investment already planned for out-of-home delivery, the company said. PostNL expects more customers to choose where and when they receive, collect and return parcels, citing changing consumer preferences.
PostNL says people should be able to reach one of its parcel lockers within about seven minutes. The company noted that the number of lockers operated by businesses including PostNL and DHL has grown sharply in recent years.
