Mahershala Ali says he put his Oscars out of sight to get back to work

Mahershala Ali says he keeps his two Oscars out of sight because their success left him feeling he had achieved too much to get back to work. The actor spoke about the awards and his sense of fulfilment at the 70th London Film Festival on Saturday, according to Nieuws.nl. [1]

Ali won the best supporting actor Oscar for *Moonlight* in 2017 and *Green Book* in 2019. He said winning had brought a sense of achievement, but not fulfilment. He now feels more fulfilled in some parts of his work, describing himself as “tired for the right reasons” and saying he felt he had only just begun. [1]

He also spoke about his latest role in the action thriller *Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother*, in which he plays Latif, a devout Muslim and hired killer who tries to protect his three children after his wife’s death. Ali is also working on the second season of HBO crime series *Task*, which Nieuws.nl says is expected to arrive in late 2027. [1]
