Tolu Arokodare and Abdellah Ouazane scored for Ajax at Het Kasteel, while Jens Toornstra replied for Sparta. The victory continued Ajax’s run of form after wins over FC Groningen and Atalanta.
Ajax have 21 points, three behind leaders Feyenoord and one ahead of both PSV and AZ. AZ host FC Twente later on Sunday and would move above Ajax if they win.
