Willem II lost 6-1 at home to SC Cambuur on Saturday, remaining bottom of the Eredivisie after taking just two points from their first 10 league matches. The defeat came in Adri Koster’s first match as interim coach, following John Stegeman’s dismissal.
Cambuur were 3-0 ahead after 18 minutes. Nicolas Binder opened the scoring from Morgan Costarelli’s pass, Ilyes Hamache added a second and Ismaël Baouf made it three.
Koster brought on three substitutes at half-time as Willem II looked for a way back. Binder scored again, then Rafik El Arguioui capitalised on an error by goalkeeper Thomas Didillon-Hödl. Anass Zarrouk pulled one back for the hosts, but Jason Ceka completed the scoring.
The win lifted Cambuur towards the middle of the table, with 12 points. The club were promoted to the Eredivisie last season.
