Harry Kane’s 125th England appearance has brought him level with Peter Shilton as the country’s most-capped player, according to BBC Sport.

BBC Sport reports that Harry Kane equalled Peter Shilton’s England appearance record when he played against the Czech Republic in the Nations League on Tuesday, 6 October. It was Kane’s 125th senior international appearance, matching a record Shilton had held for 36 years. [1]
Kane is also England’s record goalscorer. Former Ridgeway Rovers coach Dave Bricknell recalled that Kane impressed in goal at a trial in 1999, when he was six, before moving outfield and scoring freely. The BBC notes that some interviews in its account were first published in 2016. [1]
Kane went on to become Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer, with 280 goals in 435 appearances, before joining Bayern Munich in 2023. [1]
