SC Heerenveen beat ADO Den Haag 3-2 away in rain and stormy conditions on Saturday, earning a second consecutive Eredivisie win and moving up to seventh. ADO remain second from bottom after failing to build on their first league victory of the season, against PSV last week.
Jacob Trenskow scored twice for Heerenveen, with Maxence Rivera providing the assists for both goals. Ringo Meerveld also scored for the visitors, while Nigel Thomas netted twice for ADO.
ADO created the first clear chances, but Heerenveen took the lead when Rivera sent in a low cross for Trenskow to score his fifth league goal of the season. Meerveld made it 2-0 shortly after half-time, finishing Oliver Braude’s pass.
Thomas quickly pulled one back, and ADO came close to equalising. Instead, Rivera set up Trenskow again to restore Heerenveen’s two-goal advantage. Thomas scored a second for the hosts, but ADO could not find an equaliser.
