Truly Naked wins six Gouden Kalveren, including best film

The nominations were announced on Saturday at the Netherlands Film Festival in Utrecht. Joe Speedboot, adapted from Tommy Wieringa’s novel, is nominated for Best Feature Film, cinematography and editing. Daan Buringa is nominated for a lead performance, while QiQi van Boheemen and Ramses van Hall are nominated for supporting performances. [1]

A Family, Truly Naked, Donkey Days and Whitetail complete the Best Feature Film field. Truly Naked has seven nominations overall, while Downtown has five. [1]

In the series categories, Basta has four nominations, including Best Drama Series, directing and screenplay. Chris Peters is nominated for a lead performance in the Videoland series about Marco van Basten. [1]

The awards are due to be presented on Friday, the festival’s final day, at the Stadsschouwburg in Utrecht. [1]

The English-language film is the feature debut of director and screenwriter Muriel d’Ansembourg. It centres on a teenager’s troubled relationship with his father, who produces pornography. [2]

Joe Speedboot, which led the nominations with nine, won one award: best leading performance for Daan Buringa. [2]
