The climate activist spoke at a school blockade near Paris as further demonstrations were planned across France.
ANP reported in an article republished by Nieuws.nl that Greta Thunberg joined protesting pupils at a blockade of a secondary school in Saint-Denis, near Paris, on Tuesday. She told BFMTV she was proud of the pupils for continuing their protest and described police as extremely violent. [1]
At the blockade, Thunberg said schools were not receiving the investment they needed and that this sent young people a message that they were not a priority. She also said she intended to join another demonstration later on Tuesday.
A large march was due to begin in Paris at 2pm, ANP reported. Police sources cited by Le Parisien expected between 130,000 and 200,000 demonstrators across France that day. [1]
