FNV says ABN AMRO staff are expected to take industrial action soon after talks over a new collective agreement stalled, with the union opposing the bank’s pay offer and a proposed requirement to spend an average of half their working time in the office.
The union’s ultimatum to the bank expired on Tuesday morning, according to FNV official Bob Bolte. He said the bank had not accepted the union’s demands and that FNV would now call on members to take action. Bolte expected work stoppages and strikes to begin shortly, but said details had yet to be decided.
The dispute over office attendance comes amid wider debate about how many days employees should work from home.
