SpaceX board member Donald Harrison has told the company he intends to step down after more than a decade as a director. The notice was submitted on 4 November, the day after the US midterm elections, according to a filing by the company reported by ANP/Bloomberg and published by Nieuws.nl.
SpaceX said Harrison’s decision was not prompted by a disagreement with the company. He joined its board in 2015 as part of Google’s investment in the rocket, satellite and AI business.
Harrison is an independent director and remains head of global partnerships and corporate development at Alphabet, Google’s parent company. Alphabet is SpaceX’s largest shareholder after Elon Musk, the report said.
