Fin Smith has recovered from a calf injury and will start at fly-half for England against Australia on Sunday, giving the side their regular number 10 for the opening Test of the autumn.
The 24-year-old had been a doubt after coming off late in Northampton’s defeat by Leicester on 24 October. He has started England’s past five matches at fly-half.
Ben Curry also returns to the starting line-up for his first Test in 16 months after an injury-hit period. His twin brother, Tom, is unavailable after suffering an injury setback in training earlier this week.
England have picked Northampton team-mate Tommy Freeman on the wing, with George Furbank at full-back. Alex Coles starts in the second row ahead of George Martin, while Henry Slade is selected at outside centre. Fin Baxter starts at loose-head prop; Ellis Genge and Will Stuart are among the replacements.
Exeter back-row Greg Fisilau could win his first cap from the bench. England’s matchday squad also includes fly-half Marcus Smith as a replacement.
The match is part of the Nations Championship.
