Dutch short-track skater Michelle Velzeboer will miss the remaining four World Tour events of 2026 after a scan found a small fracture in her fibula, the Dutch skating federation (KNSB) says.
The 23-year-old injured her leg at last weekend’s opening World Tour meeting in Vancouver. She has been told to rest for six weeks, according to the ANP report published by Nieuws.nl.
The second event is being held in Montreal this weekend. Velzeboer is the reigning Olympic champion in the 500m and 1,000m; she won 500m gold at the opening World Tour event in Vancouver.
