The Dutch state investor’s funding could help ASML supplier KMWE expand production in Malaysia.

Dutch state investor Invest International is investing €15 million in Eindhoven-based KMWE International, a supplier to chipmaking equipment company ASML. The investment could help KMWE expand production in Malaysia. [1]
KMWE develops and makes complex mechanical components and systems for the chip, aerospace and medical sectors. The company says it needs the investment to remain internationally competitive. Its chief financial officer described Malaysia as a logical choice, citing growth in the country’s high-tech and innovation industries and its proximity to KMWE’s market. [1]
Invest International chief Melanie Maas Geesteranus said the semiconductor industry was important to the Netherlands’ future earning power. She argued that Dutch high-tech firms needed to be able to grow internationally amid geopolitical tensions. [1]
