Dutch singer Samuel Welten will release his debut album, *Prins*, on 8 January, he announced on RTL Boulevard. The 20-year-old says he has spent two years working on the record. [1]
Welten said the title refers to a sarcastic nickname people used when he was the youngest in the room after he began singing: “There comes the prince again.” He described the album as something he had worked harder on than anything else, “a bit like my son”. [1]
His breakthrough came with the song *Echte Liefde Is Te Koop*. Nieuws.nl reports that he won a Buma Award and two Edison awards this year, in the Newcomer and Dutch categories, and was the biggest winner at the Buma NL Awards. [1]
