De Nederlandsche Bank says Zonnepanelendelen B.V. breached its capital requirement from at least 31 December 2025. The firm has since corrected the shortfall, and no penalty payments were incurred.

The Dutch central bank has imposed an order subject to penalty payments on investment firm Zonnepanelendelen B.V. after finding it had insufficient capital, but says the company has since corrected the shortfall and paid no penalties.
De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) said the firm had failed to meet its capital requirement since at least 31 December 2025. The breach arose because Zonnepanelendelen wrongly deducted certain costs when calculating the fixed-overheads requirement, leaving the applicable capital requirement considerably higher than the firm had assumed.
DNB imposed the order on 8 May 2026, requiring the breach to be ended within a specified period. The bank said the shortfall was still outstanding when the period for the firm to respond to the proposed measure ended. After the order was issued, Zonnepanelendelen provided further information and revised financial data showing it had restored its capital within the compliance period. No penalty payments were therefore incurred.
Investment firms must maintain sufficient own funds at all times to absorb losses and support their financial stability. DNB said it considered the order necessary because the requirement is a prudential rule that firms must meet continuously. Its policy is generally to impose such an order when a firm fails to meet applicable capital or liquidity requirements.
