Jannik Sinner will part company with coach Darren Cahill at the end of 2026, ending a partnership that helped the Italian win five Grand Slam titles and reach world number one.
Australian Cahill joined Sinner’s team in June 2022, when the player was just outside the world’s top 10 and had not gone beyond the quarter-finals at a Grand Slam. Working alongside Italian coach Simone Vagnozzi, he helped Sinner spend 95 weeks at the top of the rankings.
Sinner said Cahill had been “an incredibly important part” of his journey and had helped him grow as both a player and a person. Cahill described working with Sinner as a “special honour and privilege”.
Sinner, 25, has not played since winning Wimbledon for the second year running in July. Alexander Zverev has since overtaken him at number one. Sinner is expected to return at the Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia next month.
Swede Magnus Norman, who coached Stan Wawrinka for many years, will join Sinner’s team for next season.
