ANP reports disruption to online orders and store deliveries at the supermarket chain. Its experts’ financial figures are estimates of different kinds of impact.

Supermarket experts estimate that a cyber incident has caused at least €10m in financial damage to Albert Heijn so far, according to a 14 October report on Nieuws.nl credited to ANP. The retailer’s costs for hiring IT specialists would come on top of that estimate. [1]
ANP reported that customers had been unable to place online orders since Sunday and that halted deliveries from distribution centres had left many store shelves empty. [1]
Cor Molenaar, emeritus professor of e-marketing at Erasmus University Rotterdam, put the damage at roughly €10m. He said it could rise exponentially if the disruption lasted longer. Retail expert Erik Hemmes separately estimated missed sales in stores and online at approximately €21m so far. That is a figure for forgone revenue, not a measured financial loss. [1]
